Be a Smart User                                      Learn how to put your data to work for you!

Dear Colleague,

The Maryland Cultural Data Project (Maryland CDP) is a powerful management tool for arts and cultural organizations.  This unique system, at no cost, has allowed arts managers and artistic leaders to understand and analyze their organization's progress through easy-to-run reports.  Not just a tool used to apply to funders, it provides access and tools to enhance and encourage financial and institutional knowledge. By participating in the Maryland CDP, you are part of a successful and growing project that will allow researchers and the arts community as a whole to better articulate and provide evidence for the sector's assets and needs.

Now operating in eight states, we have learned much on how organizations of all shapes and sizes can best use the system.  During this session we will thoroughly discuss the different reporting tools that are available to your organization.  With a click of a mouse you can generate an instant annual report for a prospective donor, run a trend report to help identify strengths and needs, or compare yourself against others in aggregate. Don't miss this opportunity to learn how to put your data to work for you!

If you have questions or have specific issues you would like to cover, feel free to contact Flo Gardner at fgardner@pewtrusts.org or at 215-575-4897.

Space is limited. Refreshments will be provided.

Pennsylvania Cultural Data Project

The Pennsylvania Cultural Data Project is a powerful, online management tool designed to strengthen arts and cultural organizations. This unique system allows users to track their own financial and programmatic performance over time and to benchmark themselves against comparable organizations in specific disciplines, geographic regions and budget sizes. Through the Pennsylvania CDP Help Desk, organizations have immediate access to free on-call technical assistance and a team of non-profit financial consultants. Pennsylvania CDP is available to large and small organizations, including those with 501(c)3 status, cultural programs within non-arts organizations, organizations using fiscal conduits, and even unincorporated collectives and festivals at no cost.

By participating in the Pennsylvania CDP, you will be part of a successful and growing project that will allow the arts community as a whole to better articulate and provide evidence for the sector's assets and needs, as well as its contributions to the state and the country.
